Johnson Matthey donates 200 items to Foodbank to celebrate 200 years

31st July 2017

Johnson Matthey is celebrating its 200th birthday this year and on Wednesday 19th July, Johnson Matthey sites around the world held a party to mark this momentous milestone.

Clitheroe Site organised a lunch for all staff with outdoor games and also planted a tree in commemoration. Photos and memorabilia from the site’s history were also on display for staff to reminisce over the history of the site in Clitheroe.

In order to give something back to the community, all employees were invited to donate items to the Ribble Valley foodbank, with the target of collecting 200 items for 200 years. Everyone rose to the challenge and they managed to collect 208 items of essential items of food and toiletries. On Wednesday, 26th of July Ruth Haldane came to site to be presented with the items for the Ribble Valley Foodbank.
