New figures show 1522, three day emergency food supplies were given to local people in crisis by Ribble Valley Foodbank in 2016-17. This compares with 1312 in 2015-16. There continues to be a need for a foodbank in the Ribble Valley, with 1512 people receiving three days emergency food in 2016, 20% up on the previous year. Of these, 538 were children. Well done to the 1st West Bradford Guides who raised money for Foodbank at the Clitheroe Christmas Festival. The girls then spent their Tuesday evening meeting at Tesco’s Clitheroe shopping for Foodbank provisions and collecting further funds. Thanks to everyone involved.

Thank you to everyone who helped collect food at Tesco’s on 2nd and 3rd December, and thanks also to all those who helped to make up Christmas parcels on 5th December. 101 boxes of food were collected and 154 Christmas parcels made up for people in the Ribble Valley referred by our referral agencies.
