We would like to thank Barrow URC Primary School and Pendleton WI for their recent donations to the Ribble Valley Foodbank.
The Barrow URC Primary School families donated 69 Easter Eggs and 45 Bags for Life which was much appreciated.
The school are regular supporters of the foodbank and some of the children came to visit earlier in the year with more donations and heard first hand from Ruth Thompson (Project Manager for Ribble Valley Foodbank & Olive Branch Cafe) about the work of the foodbank
Ruth also received a warm welcome from Pendleton WI when she was invited to visit recently.
Members heard that over 3,000 people had received emergency food parcels in the Ribble Valley over the last 11 months, with the Olive Branch Advice Café supporting about 40 people each week.
Health, Debt, DWP, Citizens Advice, HARV and Housing are at the Olive Branch Cafe each week to help.
Many thanks to all the WI members for the kind donations of much needed food and toiletries.
